Will France or England win this year’s Six Nations title?
The Six Nations tournament 2009 is about to begin and both the French and the English rugby teams share the same dream: to win and to get back to the top. In fact, both teams have been going through some tough times lately… But can they make a come back?
Winner of the Six nations title in 2006 and 2007, France begins this new tournament craving revenge. And with good reasons. Last year, they ended up third and played, let’s be honest, a really poor game. New players, new coach, France may just have needed some time to find a new way to be the best again. After a season of laborious and unsuccessful tries, Marc Lièvremont and its team are strongly determined to win and are already thinking about the 2011 World Cup Title… Still, are they really dangerous adversaries? Could the French magic be back again? French players are acclaimed for the quality of their game and continue to worry the other teams… will they get their revenge after last year's humiliation? One thing is certain, their game will be as beautiful as it will be merciless!
The English team seems to be in an even worse shape than the French one. Everyone will remember their Grand Slam in 2003 as well as when they won the world cup that very same year but what happened after that? Of course, they did play in the 2007 World Cup’s final. However, victories have not been coming their way for quite some time. The season hardly began promisingly: three defeats against Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. So, are English rugby men cumulating defeats as often as Johnny Wilkinson gets hurt? Nobody could say that since they still have wonderful players and have already proven their ability to respond when their backs are against the wall. One of their major problems is their lack of communication, but hopefully their coach Martin Johnson has already fixed it?
Whom ever wins, this year, be ready for some extraordinary matches! Ireland V France, Scotland V Wales open the tournament and both matches promise to be mind blowing.
