World Premiere of Nimrod Borenstein's 'If you will it, it is no dream'

13/06/2013 from 19:30 to 22:00

The world premiere of Nimrod Borenstein's 'If you will it, it is no dream', Op. 58 will be conducted by Vladimir Ashkenazy, an ardent supporter of Borenstein’s work for many years. 'If you will it, it is no dream' was commissioned by the Philharmonia Orchestra and composed during 2012.

Borenstein’s life is as contrasting as his music: born in Tel Aviv, he grew up in Paris before settling in London. He is frequently commissioned and regularly composes for and collaborates with musicians such as Roberto Prosseda, Konstantin Lifschitz, Jeffrey Zeigler and the conductor and violinist Dmitry Sitkovetsky. His Shell Adagio (published by Boosey & Hawkes) has been played more than 30 by 16 different orchestras already, including a concert at Carnegie Hall.
