The gallery "L'Envers à Bordeaux" presents "Green Riot", Jonathan Longuet's latest exhibition, from 8 to 31 March.

This exhibition offers a selection of his most recent work, including the "Green Riot" and "People like(s) you" collections.

JONATHAN LONGUET:

Jonathan Longuet lives in Bordeaux. He has been working since 2005 on his botanical paintings (Green Graffiti).  

"The idea is to share with the public experimental aspects of my work as well as its ethical, philosophical and artistic implications"

The paintings are made out seaweed and evolve depending on how they are taken care of and in which conditions they are preserved. Jonathan Longuet collected the seaweed from Bordeaux’s buildings and transformed them into "bio-art". 

By giving human features to plants, Jonathan Longuet wants to build a dialogue between humans and their biological environment, stressing their common characteristics, especially how we react to survival and adaptation and how we organise ourselves and live in a community. More broadly, the artist tries to define what can be called an eco-system.
